    • Propecia

    Also known as Finasteride, this is a common medication for androgenetic alopecia. Finasteride generally prevents the conversion of testosterone to DHT (Dihydrotestosterone), an enzyme that causes hair loss. Patients should only use Propecia after a prescription since it is associated with some side effects.

    • Minoxidil

    It is commonly used by women, but men can also utilize it. The solution is applied to the scalp (affected region) and left to dry. It is normally used for 5 or 6 months. Other treatment approaches include therapy to help promote hair growth.

    All in all, getting a hair transplant earlier may leave you unsatisfied with the results, yet the cost of the surgery is high. Nonsurgical treatments are recommended until you are an ideal candidate for the procedure.
